La Brea Tar Pits

Prime Contracting demonstrated ingenuity by creating a cofferdam for a dry dock setup, installing a self-gravity pump station at the La Brea Tar Pits. This innovative system leverages water's natural height, efficiently transferring water through filtered vaults until seamlessly connecting to the sewer line. Establishing an extensive cofferdam system using 85,000 gallons of water, our team ensured an ideal working environment while implementing rigorous safety protocols in the potentially hazardous methane-rich vicinity near the tar pits. Skillfully navigating challenges posed by tar deposits, we executed this project with precision, exemplifying our commitment to innovative solutions and safety in complex environments.
